Thread: Miles to next service stuck - not counting down (or up)

Hi,

Have noticed the "miles until next service" on my 2004 W211 E55 has remained at exactly the same number for the past month (about 500 miles), and quite possibly a lot longer. Do you know of a way to rectify this at all?

Hi, about 500 miles. 1 month in time. May well be more, but that is when I noticed it and took a photo to remind myself.

I suspect the easiest answer is to have it serviced and the counter reset.

The time part is independant (mostly) and it will tell you seperately if the time says you need a service, so it may be that you've just driven the last 500 miles carefully ..

Hi, thanks for the reply. A little confused though - if the time part is independant, then can I ignore the fact that the mileage is (I'm assuming) stuck at 5761 miles remaining forever, and the time part will kick in when it really does need a service?

I don't really want to have it serviced 4000 miles earlier than necessary (or maybe 5000 if it got stuck more recently)
