    Default iPhone 4 'No service'

I have a late 2004 face lift CLK with uhi factory fit phone wiring which has worked fine with nokia/nokia cradle to date. I have just bought a new iphone 4 (not s) and therefore also bought from command online a mb cradle (no cable). I can pair/connect my iphone without difficulty ; i see 'vodafone' in the instrument cluster, i get a reading of signal strength, contacts download and can be scrolled through using the steering wheel or dashboard. Problems ; when i try to initiate a call through the dash/steering wheel the dial function does not work. After less than 10 seconds i then get a 'no service' message. not withstanding 'no service ' i can still see reception, strength, contacts, 'vodafone' etc. Additionally if i place a call using the iphone there is no sound routed through the speakers.
This may be a red herring ; when I connect the phone to the cradle the blue tooth also searches for 'handsfree' but cannot connect. The cradle instructions actually refer briefly to turning on handsfree in the phone but don't expand. Command online suggested the phone is at fault and that i turn the blue tooth off/on which I have tried. can you offer any other suggestions.

    Thanks

Can also try deleting the pairing profile and making a new one.

Hi, I have unpaired ('forget device') and paired again a few times. i've disconnected the cradle and clipped it back in a few times and I have switched off blue tooth on the iPhone and powered it down a few times. i'm pretty confident that the pairing works because the iphone tells me its connected to the cradle and the cradle gives a constant blue light.

There was a bug-fix from Apple. Which OS are you running.

The quality of the sound will drop. Why not just update the phone in itunes ?
