Apologies for posting this if it has already been answered... I've been reading through the posts and still confused....

I have a 2005 SLK200 R171 with the BASIC audio 20 single CD in head unit with the option of CD changer but it does not have one installed. I have a bluetooth cradle for iPhone connectivity but it has no iPod connectivity

Can I replace the audio 20 with the command NTG1? Is the size of the two headunits that same to allow for retrofitting without modification? Also can the pre existing wiring be plugged directly into the NTG1 or an entirely new wiring configuration necessary?

I have found a command NTG1 (A171 820 16 97 001) with the DVD drive incorporated in the head unit... is this correct? I have read on a few posts that the navigation assembly is in the boot of the SLK however is this NTG1 - A171 820 16 97 001 in the actual head unit?

Apologies with all the questions but if you can shed some light on it it would be fantastic. An easy DIY option of upgrading/retrofitting from the AUDIO 20 to a command system with nav would be excellent.

The only way forward for you is to look at the NTG 2.5. The NTG1 is a massive job on your car.
