Default Mercedes SLK (2007) and SD cards capacity on command system

    Hello everybody,
i have a mercedes slk 200 bought in late 2007.
On my Command system i have an hard disk inside and SD card slot.

With a normal 2GG SD card it works well but I bought and tried to put a 16GB SD card and it doesn't recognize it.

Is it possible to have greater capacity SD working on my Mercedes for mp3?

    Kindest regards,

    Summy

They probably assumed that SD format was enough. 16GB is SDHC that is why it is a problem.

Also, 2007 SLK must have had this later COMAND system fitted (Model Year 2009 onward COMAND has the SD card).

The first few firmware releases only supported 2G SD cards, there was then a firmware updated that increased the capacity (but I can not recall to how large).

But, firmware updating retrofitted COMAND NTG2.5 is not trivial and you need a specialist to do it because MB dealers can not.

You will also find that the latest map updates only work with firmware from Jan 2010 onwards..
