    Default Integrated Garage Door Opener

    Hey guys,

Im from Australia and have a 2001 CLK430.
I currently have the standard rearview mirror installed in my car and would like to install the one with the auto dimming and garage door opener on it.

I read on the site merc upgrades but it doesnt say anything about Australia on the US and Europe.

Can i get one of the upgraded mirrors from anywhere or does it have to be somewhere outside the U.S. ??
Also i was reading about the region codes and there isnt one for Australia. What would i set it to ? Thanks

The mirror is just theright hand drive version if you have a phone kit. Otherwise it is just dimming and garage door. You need to make sure your garage door motor suits the signal frequency. I seem to recall we are more compatible with USA than EU. Check first of all what the frequencies are for AU. You can do this by asking what the frequency is for 2011 S-Class. It must in all cases be the same. The mirrors only differ by frequency range.

    Australia is option code 625.

Mirrors are extremely expensive to fit but I recommend you get something from the UK.

So all mirrors are the same for left hand drive and right hand drive cars is that correct ? I do have the phonekit in my car.
The frequency of the remote i have is 315 Mhz...

So should i get one from the U.S. or outside U.S. ?

You need to determine in which continent that frequency was sold.

    I thought all the mirrors worked between 288mhz - 433mhz ?
So shouldn't any mirror outside the US work ?

No there are two distinct frequency bands in total. One band was only for NA and the other for EU. I would need to look into it again to determine which band was sold for AU or valid here.

It has to do with public domain frequencies. It may actually turn out that we are compatible with the USA modality. Since we use the same unlock frequencies in AU as they use in USA.

The only difference between codes 862 and 863 for the keylocks is that 863 has panic mode associated with it. It presume that the mirrors ride on the same frequency codes as the ignition keys. This is because the public domain bands allowing device sharing if the transmission is for less than a given number of seconds.

Since no person uses the mirror and the key for more than a couple of seconds then the likelyhood is that we use the same USA signal in Australia.

    But please verify this.

USA Garage Frequency is 284-390 MHZ. Does that fit in with your equipment ?
