Thread: Headrest Airbag warning after removal.

I have installed headrests in my friends R500 W251 and the airbag wrning comes up since it had the function before. Any solution to get the warning deleted?

I presume that you remove NECK-PRO.

This is actually quite involved. First of all you need a contract to waive modification to the airbag system and have that looked at by an engineer.

Secondly, you will need to reset the airbag module using a Daimler key.

Thirdly, you will need to code out the sections which are different.

Fourthly, you will need to activate other airbag countermeasures otherwise the passenger will not have any airbag on the front seat.

Be careful with how you handle this. Insurance companies love litigating airbag modifications.
