Default 2006 SLK (US) Command system totally dead

Help! My command system totally and suddenly quit. When turned on, It lights
up then goes green with horizontal lines flickering, then blank. My MB dealer told me to try a hard reboot (disconnect battery) No Luck and now my clock is out of sync. I have checked all of the associated fuses except for the ones in the left boot area (could not find them). Dealer says my only option is a new 4K unit. Any ideas or choices for an aftermarket system that would interface
with the car? It's hard to believe that it can not be repaired. I would be grateful for any help or advice.

Default Found the Problem How do I remove the Command unit?

MB Dealerships have no way to repair Command Systems. After much searching
I found Becker Autosound in NJ who diagnosed my problem over the phone.
My son spilled a drink on the dash and evidently the slightest amount of moisture will reek havoc on the unit.
So now the question is how to remove the unit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ron

Yes, that is because it wasnt a Mercedes drink.

Removal is a bit hard to explain in words.
