Thread: No mic function

Any troubleshooting tips ?

My CLS55 amg lost it's voice control function. Can dial out and receive calls but no voice. No beep when pulling lever.

Car has vcm # A240 820 08 85.

I tried a vcm from an E211
vcm # A211 820 62 85 but no luck.

In the year I've owned the car, I've had to replace the overhead console,
inside mirror/garage door opener.
Could there be a commom denominator causing all these problems ?

Has the car had water damage or a history of flat battery ?

When the battery is very low it will disable the extra features till it improves.

Battery is kept charged and is fairly new.

Since the dealers service dept. would start replacing parts until the problem
is solved, I might as well do the same, myself.

So far, I only waisted $50.00 on the C-class vcm.
I know the odds of it working were pretty slim, but since it appeared identical,
right down to the plug, I couldn't resist trying it.

E-bay always has a lot of vcms for sale but not with my part #.

Is there a list of interchangeable part #s available anywhere ?

I know I sound like a cheap bastard, but I found these electronic parts very
expensive from the dealer.

Fixed !

Unplugged the bluetooth cradle adapter in the center console, and plugged
it back in and presto! it works.

Dirty contacts, I guess.
