Thread: Bluetooth Sap V3

Hi All,
I've a C Class C200 CDi, 2007 - W203? Pre wired for a phone under centre armrest and Audio 20 unit installed. I've purchased a Bluetooth Sap V3 module and Nokia N8. All seems to be in order to have a up and running phone system... but no! All goes well, including putting 16 digit code in phone, head unit showing my phone name.. and I've even dialed my house phone number, having it ringing. BUT after about two minutes, without sim phone numbers being downloaded to module.. the module goes off line and 'no phone' shows and it all starts over again.

I assume all is compatable.. Nokia N8; Sap V3; W203 and Audio 20 unit.

Any comment \ suggestions welcome?

I'd ensure that
a) The phone has the latest firmware in it
b) That it can pair with any other bluetooth device without dropping out (eliminate phone fault)
c) Was the SAP new ? There may be firmware updates for the SAP V3 cradle - there are for V2 cradles
d) Is there any other Merc that you can try the SAP cradle in with your phone ?

Unit was sold as new by MB Manchester, but is clearly old stock.. 2009 ish by date on box. Not sure about firmware, or how to check, or to update?
Have pair with my Nokia N95, but then dropped out after two mins or so, but again was able to phone house phone.
Sap unit does get warm which is a worry?... and unit fails to pair after say ten minutes.. so I'm starting to suspect unit may be faulty.
