Thread: Change of US Cluster to European Km cluster

I have an April 2008 US ML 320 CDI (W164) with a miles cluster for the speedo meter. I want to swop that cluster for an European one which I bougt second hand (I live now in Europe). I had the Km cluster reading set to the car ODO km reading. After trying to learn the new cluster to the car by star diagnose a fault message says that the EU cluster could not be set to the car because there is no SCN code (according to MB this SCN does not exist) to match the EU km cluster to an US car. Is there a possibility to swap the clusters. I tried for a while the EU cluster and it will displayed km and all other functions with exeption of the service interval message. The car ODO (ignition key and other units) in miles will stay at the miles reading at the time the display was swapped. the Cluster will display the new ODO (and count up) and speedo in the correct way. Is there a way to change to an EU cluster in a way that the car recognize the change. When you now look at the Star diagnose it shows a warning that the car has a cluster which is not coupled to the system.
