    Default Neck Pro Head Rests

Anyone knows if it's possible to have the Neck Pro head rests fitted to an S550 that didn't come with it?

You would need an engineers report, a new airbag controller and a lot of new wiring. Plus then you are still liable for the damage it may cause if it does not work as expected.

I was hoping all I needed was the module and proper harness, but you saying there's a lot or wiring is making me scared I don't really care too much about the whiplash protection feature on impact but rather more interesting in having a more comfy headrest.

Is that you website BenzModz Where's the location and is long distance services/assistance possible? If you don't mind could you see if any of the other mods i'm contemplating here possible?

The wiring is attached directly to the airbag controller. Hence you need a bunch of coding.

If all you want is the headrest then it should in theory just slide into the same place as the existing headrest. This will still function as a headrest without the NECK PRO.

Since the car doesnt know it exists then there will be no errors.

I did a conversion for a W204 where the seats were standard and the customer had installed AMG seats. The AMG seats you will notice (from C63 W204) have no neckrest. They are all one piece.

So the challenge was to determine how to deactivate the neck-pro in a way that Mercedes had already done in an original C63. But deactivation is much easier than activation since the seat has no such feature.

Activation for something that doesnt exist is a whole different story.

I assume you live in Australia ?

@BenzModz I apologize for taking so long to respond, I didn't notice your reply until now. I'm in the US but will be shipping the car to Saudi Arabia where I've been working the past 2 years. Unlike (apparently) most ppl I happen to use my headrest a lot which is why this mod is important to me but it seems to be a little more involved than anticipated. The current headrest is so uncomfortable and only a small portion of my head touches it. I much rather a headrest that supports the neck and the head with added bonus of wings to hug the neck and base of my head for a snug and more comfy feeling. Anyway if you provide long distance services/assistance let me know.

Purchase the neckrest you want to use and install it in the car. The wiring it also available for the seat itself. The big problem is the body harness with the SRS wiring. Those are not easily obtained since the SRS wiring is not sold on its own as far as I know.

You may also need a new SRS module depending on the options.
