Thread: How to recognize a retrofit

My daughter's 01 C240 was declared a total loss after a tree fell on it and yesterday we got her an 04 C230 sport coupe (w203). It has the COMAND 2.0 system installed, but there are a couple of things about it that I have questions about and make me wonder if it might be a retrofit.

On the left side, the bottom buttons are "TV" and "SYS." The COMAND manual isn't in the car, so I located it online. It shows that US cars should have "SAT" and "SVS" there (based on the pictures). Does this indicate a retrofit?

Yes it does. There is no TV button in the USA on that series.
