I own a 2006 W251 (R320 CDI4matic) for 1.5 years.
..With mixed emotions.. So I sometimes feel like criyng
In the last year, around every two months I have to visit the MB Dealer, in order to 'reset' something. Recurring problems are a DSG's "clunky" gear-shift, and the active headlights being inoperative (lights do not follow the steering..). A quick visit to the dealer is often enough, but I am getting ****(@).. driving around in a Microsoft Windows Vista (?) operated vehicle.
About 16 months ago, thanks to answers I found on mbguru.com my MB dealer has carried out a SYSTEM-software-update in the Comand-unit,. Not thanks to my MB dealer, they left me with an unusable 2009 navigation CD (I bought there) which only task was continuously rebooting the 2006-system... leaving me with a flat battery and (thus) a dead car, 450 km from home. The Comand system now shows an ETA on the bottom of the screen where it was not so formerly (and it wasn't supposed to be there according to the MB dealer..) ..Thanks guys!* for providing me the original available MB software ordering numbers..!)
Can anyone tell me if there are software-updates (the dealer and) I might have missed, and probably are available for my early (2006) W251 ? I realise that I might own one of the first W251's built... and my MB dealers knowledge of software updates seems not very high...
It ( most of the times) is a great car, but I am seriously thinking of getting rid of it..
