    Unhappy Comand-APS NTG1 Resetting

    Hi all
New to this - great site though and so much helpful info - thanks.
    I have been having a problem with my Comand (W211 E270 54 plate) - which I believe to be a NTG1.
I have had several problems with the batteries and had both (main and Auxilliary replaced) - having the car jump started several times (professionally).
The issue I have is that when I start up the car and turn the Comand on it has restet itself to German/lost all nav data etc. If I turn the ignition and comand off, but wait less than 30secs to turn just the Comand back on - it is all OK - any longer than 30seconds or so and the next time I switch the Comand on bingo! it's German again. I then just have to change the language and the time and it all works fine (until I turn it off!)
    I now understand the problem could be the 12v continuous supply. My question therefore is;
Is there a fuse for this supply - if so which one (I have trawled various posts and have even found a copy of the Fuse Allocation Table - but this has no mention of a fuse for the Comand system. Anyone know or have any other suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

First of all you need to look at some other problems.

    a) Current drain problem (constant power loss above recommended level)

    b) Flash upgrade the battery control module.

    c) Flash upgrade any module in car with power consumption that is running old software.

Then once your car is stable and normal we can solve the problem of the Headunit.

The irony may be that the headunit is at fault !

    Hi
All suggested items are now done - leak within spec and STAR system checked all modules.
I have also checked that the 12v permanent power is present, even after all internal modules have shut down.
So, am I just left with the head unit memory that has failed?
Does anyone know if the memory for the Head Unit is internal or held somewhere else??
I am still a little confused as I can store data whilst the unit is on but it loses all settings if turned off (with the ignition off) after about 30-40 seconds.
