Thread: Can I retrofit a 169 A B ntg 2.5 in a 2002 C320

My center console is gutted. I have tryed the standard facelifted radio with no sucsess. I have the MCS II adapter and a most cable fiber looped in the back. The unit starts up but wont blink to read. I bought another one to see if the same thing happens. So if I do get sound with the new unit my next step with be a command. Im from the US and units are hard to find for a
W203 that fit.
Heres the thing I dont care about the GPS part of the comand that much.
I would be happy if I could watch DVD's and play MP3's. MY QUESTION IS CAN I FIT A 169 A B NTG 2.5 INTO A MY O2 C320 WITH PERFECT FITMENT?
I read in a thread somewhere that it had been done but dont want to shell out a 1000 dollars to find out it wont fit or has a different plug. What commands will fit my car that will play mp3 and play DvD's other that the original ntg 2.5 command?

First of all you will be shelling out 1000s if you intend to skip a generational variant in your car.

a) Whatever fits your year model is going to be the cheapest.

b) NTG 2.5 does fit but it has to be a W203 part number.

c) You will need more than a few parts to get it working.

d) If all you want is MP3 there is a thing called an iPOD. It does exactly the same thing and you can walk around with it.

It would be the cheapest if I were buying new but Im not. Im buying from ebay so prices vary. I am retrofitting for cosmetic reasons just as much as I am for obtaining dvd also mp3 capability. I want to keep the car looking as stock as possible. The price for the 203 or the 169 is the about the same on ebay if you can find them for euro models. For an US w203 ntg 2.5 the cost goes way up because they dont sell C Class with navi so they are not that available unless you buy from the dealer
