Yes but for the high price of the map, consider buying the NTG 2.5 if possible and then you can have the map for free.

Thanks for your quick response. From what I understand the 2.5 is a fairly complex retro-fit to a 2006 W164 ML320CDI.

Not ... just order the right parts.

Be aware that you also get bluetooth which works very well.

Will look into what you suggest. I am aware the maps go on a HDD in the 2.5 but not sure how I get them for free. Can all the parts, including a pre-owned Comand itself be purchased at a reasonable price in Australia to save importing from overseas?
I already have Australia Maps V13 DVD.
I am new to forums so if I am over-stepping normal practise then please let me know.

Everything is imported.

Keep in mind that dealers can asisst you with maps and installation. Then at least you also get bluetooth and several other useful functions.
