The engine fan on my W220 has packed up with what appears to be a fault in the controller. unfortunately, MB only want to sell teh entire Fan unit at a cost of some £550!!

Does anyone know of somewhere that can repair the controllers (or have details of the circuit inside) or know somewhere that will supply just the controller as the motor and main assembly are OK. I suspect it's either a blown power transistor of dry joint or similar as the circuitry should be pretty robust I would think.

Any pointers appreciated. I've attached a picture of the sticker off the controller itself. A google of the Temic part numebr hasn't really shown up anything useful. The fan istelf is part no A2205000293 (though this has been replaced by A2005000193 now in the MB part catalog)

The non-Mercedes version is about 1/4 the price if not less.

You can find many companies who specialise in these controllers and offer the same brand without the Mercedes packaging.

Let us know if you cant find a suitable replacement.
