what scan tool (low cost) can read (and reset) the SRS codes for the airbag and other non -obd II settings like service and oil lights.
It would be nice if this tool could do 1997 BMW z3 cars as well.
Thanks, Dave

Yes, the car is in working order. The SRS light just came on when startling it.
The steering cable (clockspring?) is a known issue with the W220 was faulty and has been replaced.
The driver's seat down not heat but the back does, so I was thinking of SRS seat sensors, but I am not sure if there is a SRS sensor mat under the driver's seat. - Although I think some systems adjust the force of the SRS based on smaller drivers.
I do not think the car has been in an accident. Although I do notice some alignment issues w/ the front bumper cover.
I have dried spring a little contact cleaner in the seat belts, but not too much.
I guess I really need the error code to know where to look first.
I have an old AutoEnginuity USB code reader, but to upgrade it to read MB airbag data costs $1400, it looks like it only displaces basic status, and I am not sure if it can even reset the codes.
I am looking for a more reasonable solution for the little use I give it, but it would be nice if it worked for my 97 BMW z3 as well.
