Default Replacing w164 motorized tailgate lock

The last few days I had problem with the locking of the tailgate.
To lock I had to slam realy hard and to open I had to use the small lever from the inside. Car is under warranty so I took it to my local approuved repairer.
He connected his diagnoses machine and confirmed for a new lock replacement.
I left the car yesterday morning he shows me the new part ordered but then yesterday after noon phoned to tell me that the car wont be ready because the new lock is not compatible with the REAR SAM and therefore a new rear SAM need to be installed as well.
Do you think this is true, at the end of the day it is under warranty and it wont cost me a penny, but I'm worry if it wll no be programmed as before.
The chap loocks conpetent and he has got different diagnosis machines to covers different makes

If its under warranty and they want to replace all these parts then let them!

Just make sure everything works as it should when you pick the car up.
