hi there
i have fitted a hdd comand ntg2.5 head unit to my e classs 2004 plate 320cdi
with this i have fitted a dension ipod getway lite 500 kit as well
the problem i have is, i cannot detect the ipod on the command unit

please help

This is because the Dension gateway is not supported on the NTG 2.5. The gateway Lite is also for much much earlier cars.

The kit you need for ipod on the NTG 2.5 is the MY09 ipod kit which can be seen here;

UCI is the media interface option. It is a more feature rich way of adding an ipod /MP3 player to the car. It gives full control and display of the tracks/artists etc on the navigation screen whereas the ipod kit doesnt. The ipod kit only displays in the instrument cluster.

The Media Interface allows other USB devices to be connected up for music playback also. the ipod kit is ipod/iphone only.
