Thumbs down comand buttons stopped working & parktronic

Hello,
I have a 56 reg ML320 with COMAND.
A month or so back my parktronic started acting up with continuous beeping when I slow down. This is referred to in the troubleshooting section of the manual, but without any fix suggested other than to take it to the dealer. The sensors are all clean. Any ideas if there is a known fix?

At the weekend, another glitch - all the buttons on the COMAND unit suddenly stopped responding. I can now only control anything from the steering wheel. It won't even let me turn it off!!

Any help gratefully received....

Thanks
Layne

I dont know what a 56 reg is .....

The ML had a problem with a kinked air-conditioning draining pipe which caused water to flood into the fuse box area.

It sounds like you have water in your CANBUS and your onboard data networks are failing.

I assume nothing was modified on the car.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Sorry, a 56 reg is a late 2006 car in the UK.

That sounds serious/expensive!
I will take a look and see if there is anything that looks wet.

Thanks

Try removing the fuse for the Comand system. That will reset it.

Amazing - after a while finding the fuse chart - took fuse out for 5 mins and put it back and all working agin. Thanks Alfie.
Just need to get the parktronic going again now.

doesn't seem to be a leak anywhere - maybe just a glitch - been OK since the reset for a few days now.
Thanks
