Thread: 2004 C320 with Bose want to upgrade HU

I have a 2004 C320 Sport with the standard stereo and a CD changer in the glove box and a Bose speaker system. ALL is OEM. I am new to the D2B world and would really like to upgrade the HU in this car to the Comand 2.0 type. This is the Part # I think I need A 230 820 28 89 aka A2308202889.
I have read that this is not a big deal as the car already has the correct connectors in place and I need only add the GPS antenna and the USA CD for NAV. Is this a yup that's about it or am I dreaming? Advise appreciated and welcome.

Maybe if your car was built about 6 months later it would be possible to do this upgrade. Even though it is possible overall the cost is about the same as the value of the car.

What you may consider is to install NTG 2.5 but even then you will still need a Harmon Kardon system, new speakers and a Teleaid upgrade.

Only cars with MOST optical can go this path cheaply. D2B cars require a total wiring overhaul.

I think if you have Bose your car is a prefacelifted one in which case you can swap the standard stereo for comand 2 which is the colour screen Cd based navigation system.

The part number beginning A230 is not right for your car and wont fit. The European comand unit which you could use is A203 827 52 42 but the FM frequency spacing will be slightly different in the USA. however this unit is capable of having TV/video in added to it. this will work with your bose sound system.

All you need is the comand unit, GPS antenna, loom adapter and a suitable Teleatas DX navigation Cd for your country/state.
