    Default W210 Tourer clonky rear

    Hello,

The rear suspension of my 2001 E430 Tourer, 74K miles, is rather clonkey over broken public roads. A series of lateral ridges in particular demonstrate this effect.

I believe it is likely down to bushes of some type either anti-roll bar mounts, drop links or both. Is there a single common culprit or could it be anything back there?

Are full kits available from anyone or do I need to buy lots of individual bushes?

Any advice you can offer would be most welcome.

    Cheers

    Mark

    Default 210

The 210 suffers from a few items that cause a clonk.

The common ones are subframe bushes and shock absorbers. Get it on a lift first to check it all out.

Thrust arm is also not mentioned above. Tends to be a common wear item. Can be bought cheaply and pushed into the arm.

A 2001 E-class does not have thrust at the front, just the rear.
