Default Instruction manual for the Star Diagnosis.

Does anyone know where instructions for the Star Diagnosis can be found? I have the pc based version and I am fumbling my way through it. A step-by-step guide would be a great help.

This is a difficult question. Firstly because it requires training by Daimler to be certified to use the apparatus. However, there are a number of CBT (computer based training) volumes relating to the use and function of DAS and Xentry.

These are a useful grounding point for starting.

Thereafter you must simply evaluate SIM DAS under simulation conditions and perform a number of sample test procedures.

After several hundred hours you will acquire a good range of skills and understanding.

Then if you wish to perform advanced coding you must learn the relationship between modules. For example - I performed a "fold mirrors on locking" coding for a 2009 CLC, noting that the dealer refused to offer this service. In order for me to make this possible I had to evaluate the door controllers, cluster, front SAM. Then I also had to reset the modules in a specific order and upon testing the function it performed flawlessly.

These kinds of coding techniques are not documented by Daimler. They only come from experience.

For general service procedures you have only 2 or 3 areas of concern. Fault codes and oil change procedure. To do this effectively you must also learn how to operate WIS alongside DAS / Xentry.
