Default Radio Exchange??

Hi everybody! I'm new to this site & perhaps this question may be a little overworked but I haven't seen an answer to my specific question. I've got an '05 SL 500, which I'd like to swap out the current radio (with CD & Nav) for a satellite radio with the same as original features(CD & Nav). I've read articles that stated that satellite radios were in fact available in '05 & were installed at port of entry. True or false?? Any suggestions as to who might have a solution?

USA navigation was never installed at port of entry. It was always factory installed unless there was a shortage of cars and they were modified for export. For example. A small number of German cars were modified for use in North America by the factory.

Only personal imports were modified at port of entry. Or perhaps also cars with wrongly fitted electronics.

Sorry, My explanation was poor. I meant that the radio could have been upgraded to satellite. The NAV feature is CD driven.
