Default Radio in E-class(2003)not working

I have a 2003 E 240 with a A 211 820 08 79 (model CK 1211) radio/cassette which is not working. All I Have is four broken lines.
Thought it was the radio, but got another one and it does the same thing. Can't find any fuse gone, so I am wondering what else it could be. Heat is not working (just cold air been blown out) wondering if these are connected or if they are two seperate problems?
If anyone could help! Thanks.

Seems strange, and a bit unlikely to be inter-related.

The Audio-20-Cassette has a fibre optic network that connects it, the amplifier/tuner in the boot/trunk (left hand side between inner and outer wing) and if you have them, phone/cd changer.

My suspicion is that one of the other items you have has failed, and that a specialist needs to put Star Diagnosis on the car.

But that wouldn't explain the air conditioning but a stuck duovalve could explain that. If you look under the bonnet following the rubber water pipes you will find a round valve with 3 smallish flexible pipes - hit it with something (not too hard) to see if it has stuck inside. (it controls whether hot water is routed to the passenger side, driver side or no where)

Where are you ?

Richard

The duovalve controls fluids/gases. The side the heat or cold comes out of is controlled entirely by the flaps in the dashboard.

OK, W211 more advanced than the last heating system I looked at !!

Benzmodz, do you think that these faults could be linked on a W211 ?

Or does this car need Star ?
