Is it possible to fit the 2 blade grille from a 2009 car onto a pre face lift version ?

I asked my local merc parts person and he said it isnt ? Looking at it though I dont understand why not . It seems the same shape , looking at the top of the grille it seems to have the exact same fixing points too ?

Is he telling me porkies or do Merc not want to sell facelift parts to non facelift owners ?

I suspect you got the stock answer from the parts man , translating to "I dont know so I wont even look and will tell you its not possible"

The bonnet and the top cross member are no different between any model year of CLS, so I suspect the MY09 part will just fit (although you need to just consider whether the top of the bumper is a different shape where it meets the grill)

Never tried it myself, so pls take that as help but not a definitive answer

Well my car has the AMG body kit fitted and having looked at an 09 cars AMG kit and my 05 AMG kit there seems to be no difference at all .

I really dont want to have to fork out the £300 he quoted me for the grille if it doesnt fit , which Im sure it would though .

Would like a definate " Ive tried it , or Ive done it or Ive seen the two grilles " before I commit
