Mercedes A Class5 door, 2005 new shape model. The rear window washer is not working, I can hear the pump, but no spray. Looking at the inside of the hatchback door, I can see no means of removing the panel to have a look. Any idieas please?

The hose must be kinked a little. The worst case is that the hose is leaking but that would be obvious.
The panel which covers the door is difficult to remove and breaks many of the 12 or so clips which hold it in place. In the official instructions, Mercedes advise that you must purchase the clips to reinstall the tailgate cover. That would be my personal experience also. Also check the tube which connects the chassis to the tailgate. Inside that tube is the water hose also. I can recommend that you look in the water reservoir to see if there is any reacted soap which has formed a glycerol ball in the bottom of the tank and clogged the pump. This reaction takes place when two totally different brands of detergent are used in the same washer tank and they react to form a thick gel. If the front washers are working perfectly then you are going to have to start by disconnecting the hose from the rear pump and seeing how much pressure you are getting at the washer bottle end of the car. Then try using a small amount of air pressure to see if you are getting any kind of jet from the rear tailgate. Last resort is to determine if the jet nozzle is totally blocked and putting a few drops of calcium solvent on the nozzle till the obstruction dissolves.
