The ESP system on our B class has begun to behave oddly. When I drive any distance ie 5 miles or more the ESP warning flashes up displaying "ESP switched off please consult owners manual". The car then appears to lose power.

Could any of you good people shed any light onto this please?

One of the inputs to the computer is faulty or the computer itself.

THe most likely culprit is the
- Wheel sensor (4 per car)
- Yaw / Lateral sensor
- Braking sensor

It may be a sensor or the wiring to it.

The other problem may be the ESP module itself.
