Wink How to reset service indicators

It would be great if you could tell me please how to reset service incator on a w245 2007/2008. However it could be a great thread if we put all the reset service procedures referenced by model all here. Just a suggestion.

Default W169 A class, W245 B class reset service indicator

This applies to the W169 Mercedes A class and the W245 Mercedes B class.

a) Turn ignition key to '1'
b) Press either of the system selection button (left hand edge of steering wheel) repeatedly until you have the Basic display with mileage in the display
c) Press the reset button (the dimming button on the cluster) briefly 3 times and you see the voltage display on the cluster
d) use the scroll down arrow button until you see the 'Service menu'
e) Use +/- buttons to select the menu item CONFIRMATION then press the lower system selection button to confirm ("Total Service" is shown in dispay)
f) Confirm full service by pressing lower system selection button
g) Press top system selection button until you get back to Service menu
h) Use +/- buttons to select the 'Additional Work' menu and Press the lower system selection button to confirm
i) Use +/- buttons to select Service 3 & press lower system selection button to confirm
j) Use +/- buttons to select the oil grade you used & press lower system selection button to confirm
k) repeatedly press top system selection button until out of service mode

Default W164 ML, W164 GL, W251 R Class reset service indicator

This applies to the W164 ML and GL class and the W251 R class

a) Turn ignition key to '1'
b) Press the lower system selection button (left hand edge of steering wheel) repeatedly until you have the Basic display with mileage or temperature in the display
c) Press the odometer reset button briefly 3 times and you see the voltage display on the cluster and a ping is heard
d) use the scroll down arrow button until you see the 'Service menu'
e) Use +/- buttons to select the menu item CONFIRMATION then press the lower system selection button to confirm ("Complete service" is highlighted in dispay)
f) Confirm full service by pressing lower system selection button
g) Press top system selection button until you get back to Service menu

i) Use +/- buttons to select Service 3 & press lower system selection button to confirm
j) Use +/- buttons to select the oil grade you used & press lower system selection button to confirm (nb, where only 1 grade of oil is allowed, there wont be a selection available)

Default W203 C Class, W209 CLK class reset service indicator.

This applies to the Mercedes W203 C class and the Mercedes W209 CLK Class.

a) Turn ignition key to '1'
b) Press the system selection buttons (left hand edge of steering wheel) until you have the Basic display with mileage or temperature in the display
c) Press the dimming button (on the cluster itself) briefly 3 times and you see the voltage display on the cluster and a ping is heard
d) Turn the ignition key to '2'
e) Press the scroll down button and 'Service indicator' will appear in display
f) Press the dimming button and 'Oil Type' will appear on the cluster
g) Select oil type using +/- buttons and press the scroll up button to confirm.
h) Press and hold the dimming button until 'Service confirmed' appeard
i) Press scroll up until 'Service indicator' appears again
j) Press upper system selection button to finish.

Default W211 E Class, W219 CLS Class

This applies to the Mercedes W211 E Class and the Mercedes W219 CLS class.

W211 E class As of 1/9/03 and all W219 CLS Class

a) Turn ignition key to '1'
b) Press the lower system selection button (left hand edge of steering wheel) until you have the Basic display with mileage or temperature in the display
c) Press the odometer reset button briefly 3 times and you see the voltage display on the cluster and a ping is heard
d) use the scroll down arrow button until you see the 'Service menu'
e) Use +/- buttons to select the menu item "Confirmation" then press the lower system selection button to confirm ("Complete service" is highlighted in display)
f) Confirm full service by pressing lower system selection button ("Service Confirmed" appears)
g) Press top system selection button until you get back to Service menu
h) Use +/- buttons to select the 'Special Work' menu and Press the lower system selection button to confirm
i) Use +/- buttons to select Service 13 & press lower system selection button to confirm
j) Use +/- buttons to select the oil grade you used & press lower system selection button to confirm (nb, where only 1 grade of oil is allowed, there wont be a selection available)
k) repeatedly press bottom system selection button until out of service mode


Before 1/9/03

a) Switch on ignition (position 2)
b) Press the scroll forward button until the service date is displayed
c) Press and hold the odometer reset button (on the cluster) for about 5 seconds until SERVICE MENU is shown in cluster display
d) Use +/- button to select 'CONFIRMATION' and press the lower System selection button (left side of steering wheel, below the down arrow) to confirm
e) Press lower system selection button to select the menu item 'CONFIRM'
f) press +/- buttons to select the oil type and press the lower System selection button to confirm ("service confirmed" appears)
g) repeatedely press button until standard display appears.

Before erasing service intervals, be sure to note the WORKSHOP CODE. This is the only means of determining any required service work.

Default W204 C Class service indicator reset (12 and 4 button steering wheels)

12 Button:

Ignition to position 1
Press left arrow repeatedly until Trip item shown
Before it dissappears (about 5 seconds) press the accept phone button and keep pressed and within 1 second also press and keep pressed the OK button
- keep these pressed for about 5 seconds and the Workshop menu then appears.
Press the down button repeatedly until Assyst Plus is highlighted & press OK
Press the down button repeatedly to Full service and press OK - current service items are shown, so note these down
Press the down button repeatedly until Confirm Service, & press OK
(may have to confirm oil type depending on engine)
Press the down button until you see YES, and hit OK ("No take back appear possible")
Press the down button until you see Confirmation and hit OK ("full service carried out") is shown
Press the single "return" button and OK buttons until back to normal
Turn off


4 Button:
Ignition in position 1
Press R button, keep pressed and press the + button within 1 second
Press system selection button (above R) - "Assyst Plus" appears
Press R button "Service data" appears
Press system selection button "Full service appears"
Press R button - current service items shown
Press system selection button repeatedly until 'confirm service?" appears
Press R button - "service completed' appears - (may also have to confirm the oil type)
Press + button - "no takeback" is shwon
Press + button "full service carried out" shown
Press system selection button repeatedly until back to normal display
Turn off igniton
