Default C32 Amg Est - Intercooler

I bought this car 2 years ago and I love it.
However a month or two ago it started using coolant rapidly and hot steam was emitting from under the supercharger. My regular and very knowledgeable self employed Mercedes trained operative took the car 24 days ago, identified the problem as a faulty "Charging Inter Cooler" and tried to order one. Having searched the UK and Europe with no success the search has finished up at the Stuttgart factory who say it is a part subject to a modification. There are many Kompressor C types around as well as the amg's and presumably they all use such a part. Why should it take so long to provide such a part and not only that but why should it be necessary on a vehicle that has done only 48000mls since registered in 2002. I might add as an aside that this car originally belonged to Bernie Ecclestone and I am its 3rd owner. If anybody has a view I'd be delighted to hear.

C32 intercooler fix is well known in forums and discussions.

Are we quite certain that the seal on the water pump isnt the problem. Once that goes it just pours coolant all over the poly-v-belt and makes the tensioner and belt very noisy.

I was under the impression that it was a recall.
