Thread: W211 E240 2002 year. Service Reset.

hi gurus,

I have a little problem here with W211 E240 2002 year.
there are three malfunctions(messages) poping up on the IC.

1. Emission Inspection Performed on time?
2. Malfunction Electrical Consumers switch off.
3. Main Inspection Peformed on time?

I have Star Diagnosis Comp3 but did handle to find the section or module to perform Service reset.

The electrical function switch off just means the battery is low (and if it happens everytime, perhaps the consumer battery is dying)

The other service items are normally done in the normal menu's on Star diagnosis in the ASSYST (or ASSYST PLUS) "control unit"

Thanks for your replay I will have it try and write back, but I have heard that these mulfunctions are somehow concerned to SBC control module is that right?

and which battery do you mean big one or small?

DAs-Control Units- and then what to choose Infromation and Communictions? please be give some more ditails if you can.

They are nothing to do with SBC. Big red messages warn you of SBC issues (as I found out once)

The "Electrical Consumers switch off" just means the big battery in the boot is flat so car has turned off the consumers until it has charged up a bit. Small battery in the front is used to start the car and run critical systems.

The ASSYST settings either appear as a control unit on their own, or under the Instrument Cluster - can't remember on W211 its not something I do often.

There is a timer that causes those messages, it just needs to be reset - I can not remember exactly where it is since i've only done that once...

actually the front small battery was flat and we recharged that up and it went fine.

As for other mulfunctions unter ASSYST Plus I had selected Gentral Servicing and selected Service 1 and Service 14 (which was only available under that section) but unfortunatly not of them was rested by the end, as the message poped up on DAS reset was not confirmed something like calculation time is out please try in 5 minutes again.

What I did just was changing the dates for the next service and all went fine (malfunctions were removed) except of a new mulfunction that stand for "Service memoy full see owner manual" ASSYST plus module didn't have any faults, but when I tried to confirm my inspection by Steering Column(as I did it before trying it out with DAS) buttons Serivce menu had several sub-menus like Special tools, Confirm All, by my surprise after I have changed the dates for the next servicing Confirm all, special tools and other sections that were available in the service menu disappeared and all was empty just small ------ ------- -----.

Any idea? by the way indeed there was a fault in SBC module too. The number of brake pedal press increased over 300.000 times (428 529 times).
