Default Tail Lamp retrofit for G Class (G500 2002)

retrofitting a 2002 G500 with the new tail lamp. is there a WIS document that covers this upgrade, or just how to do it the right way.

Thank you

There is not. You need to check that the wiring diagrams aren't different - it is quite possible (likely) that the connectors changed, but replacing the rear loom that goes between rear lights and the rear SAM is quite easy.

The only other issue you may get is that if the new tail lamp has LED lamps instead of normal ones, the SAM will then register a bulb failure, and it may not be possible to tell the SAM that there are LED bulbs there (so may need new SAM). But I haven't checked whether the new lamps are LED or not (not many G class around here)
