Hi
A while back I posted some questions about the phone setup in my CLK (MY1999 230 Kompressor a208, with option 317 - Nokia 3110 and Audio 10, now upgraded to Comand 2.0) Here's the old thread. I've now removed the factory fitted phone controller (A220 820 57 26) and replaced it with a phone controller for a Nokia 6210 (A203 820 99 26). The new controller has a D2B connection, the old one didn't. (And of course the 6210 itself, type NPE-3NX) Pictures of both phone controllers below. If i remember correctly, nothing was connected at the smallest connection on the old controller. I also changed the cradle for the 3110 with a new one for the 6210, part number A203 820 04 51. The connections from the cradle are the same on both cradles (at least they both fit). Pictures of both cradle connections below. First one is for the 3110, second for the 6210. So, I plugged in the controller, with both cables, including the D2B-connection to the Comand, plugged in the cradle with the phone, ignition on, and nothing happens. The phone doesn't even charge, and the comand still says "No phone". Could it be something about D2B wakeup? I would the guess the phone should at least charge with no D2B-connection anyway? And also theres no "little-plug-connection" on the new phone controller, wich i thought was for the wakeup signal? And on this article on mercupgrades it says something about E-Net compensator (A208 820 39 26), and that it should be mounted on the same mounting plate as the controller. Per now I got my mounting plate in the living room, and there's nothing besides the phone controller mounted on it. Any help greatly appreciated, excellent forum

The wiring is different, you don;t have D2B wakeup, and of course others may be different - I dont have access to wiring diagrams to check i'm afraid. Also, unless the phone system is awake it wont power the phone (or it would flatten the battery)
Ignore the E-net compensator completely ... Richard |
