Default Update instrument display software with DAS?

Hi, can anyone explain what to update using DAS to update the instrument cluster display software to the latest version?

The reason I am asking is that I currently have a 2009 W204 in Korea and the instrument cluster display cannot show Korean characters (only English, German, French, etc.). However, the 2010 model W204 displays Korean characters fine. It's a real pain because when I play MP3's of CD or SD Card, if the title of the song is in Korean the display is unable to show the title because obviously it is not supporting Korean language (Comand screen display Korean characters fine).

I suppose I could update the software of the instrument cluster display with the latest version which should include support for Korean language. Could anyone explain where and how I can do this within DAS? I have used DAS to update settings, etc. of the Comand and audio system, but not the instrument cluster display. Would an update of the telematics software to the latest 01/2010 version accomplish this? Thanks.

Just go into the Adaptations and see if there is such a menu.

Please do note that after you have flash updated the instrument cluster, it *may* need SCN coding , which can only be done if you have a Mercedes sdflash login ...

Hey Richard, so in order to do the flash update do I need the latest flash version? I believe our DAS is the 2009/09 version. I do have the latest COMAND update software, but what is the software I need to update the instrument cluster?

For all the flashable control units, except the audio system, the firmware releases are included in the DAS release.

I do not know (of course) whether there has been any firmware release for the particular version of instrument cluster in your car between 2009/09 and 2010/1 (or whether there have been any at all) - follow Benzmodz's advice, go into control unit adaptations and then follow the control unit programming menu (cant quite recall what its called) and DAS will check if it has an update for it
