Default Enabling door mirror dip on selecting reverse?

I do not have memory seats but do have auto fold mirros so is it possible to enable in the Convienience menu the dipping of the passenger door mirror when selecting reverse?

I thought I read somewhere this was possible using Star to set the reverse position?

You must install a MEMORY + FOLDING passenger mirror frame and then have the coding done to the cluster.

The door module is already adequate.

What's different in the memory+folding frame over what I already have (folding) i.e. what mechanical differences are there or is it just electronic?

Theres a position feedback device in there so the door controller knows where the mirror is.

Whitenemisis,

Look in your mirror, I know it was a retrofit & its possible it was supplied as a memory part ....

On memory mirrors the mirror clips to the 'memory' sensor , and you can probably see the power connector to the memory sensor if its there.

You remove the mirror by pushing the bottom edge in, then you can see the clip that holds the glass on, which you hook up.
When you reassemble the mirror, you put the clip back into position and there is a little ridge you can force the clip under which is easy then to 'knock the clip off the ridge' with a small screwdriver once the mirror is back flat against the sensor.

Cheers

Richard

Hi Richard,

The mirrors are original, not retro-fit, so I guess not fitted with the position sensor.

Sadly, yes if factory fit no position sensor. The price difference between the W203 folding mirror with sensor and without is minimal, but that doesn't help you much.

Use Search4CarParts to search for a replacement mirror. If you get one from a LHD car with the 'dimming' mirror function and glass, you can have that side auto-dim as-well
