Thread: Comand w220 telephone unavailable

Whew. Hello all. Good news. After several months & lots of money spent, phone is now working & all it took was to update the COMAND software (US$16+tax) using W220589052200.
FYI, euro COMAND works with either UHI or MHI controller as well as US BT dongle B67876131 (hit & miss address book issues depending on phone). Thanks to all the gurus for your suggestions. Big thanks to Mercedes Electronics upgrades, installation and retrofits for information on the site.

The head unit came out of a car that only had the Nokia phone system. So it must have been date stamped 2004.

The odds of landing one of these units as a replacement are so slim but possible. As in the W220 / W215 / R230 the newer firmware 05-2005 (or later) fixes all of the MOST recognition problems.

You may also find that your Linguatronic works better too.

I worked on the Intronics project and I doubt it would have solved the problem. That was designed for UHI emulation.
