    Default W164 LED tail light

Hello everyone and happy new year.
Richard, I saw your retrofit, and I ordered mine , one thing I would like to know, do they come with a new big rubber seal or do I use the existing one.
    Thanks

The rubber (well, it is in fact thick foam) seal is attached to the body, so I used the existing ones (even though I did buy new ones)

Ok I have done mine and I'm very please of the retrofit. In my case , the rubber seal is stuck to the tail light, and some how I managed to get free ones and I stack the new ones on the tail light and not on the body.

One thing to mention on w164 early 2006MY, some of them came out from manufacture with a stop light repair kit, it has a separate three way connector, therefore when a LED tail light retrofit is done, the stop light live feed from the three way connector must be removed and inserted in the free port of the main tail light connector.

    Hope this will help

    Perfect

Did you change the rear SAM ? If not, did you check that all the lights do what they are meant to do ?

I really like my LED tail lights :-) And LED brakelights are a safety enhancement as they light up quicker...

Lucky for me , the rear SAM was replaced over a year ago , when the rear door locking mechanism was replaced under warranty and for some reason they had to replace the SAM as well.
