    Default Where do I plug in the Distronic switch? [W211]

    Hey guys,

    I retrofitted Distronic in a 2004 W211. Everything is in but I can't find a connector to plug in the Distronic switch from the gear shifter cover plate. Where is the lower control module connector for it?

    Thank you.

    The LCP is built into the switch pack at the bottom of the gear lever area which may or not have buttons (such as parktronic button) dependant on the options.

    If you don't have any of these, you wont have a LCP.

    219 distronic
    220 parktronic
    228 stationary heater
    489 airmatic
    938 two-way radio
    974 fire vehicle
    975 doctors vehicle
    970 police vehicle

    (RHD cars can only have the first 4 of those, I suspect the last 4 are actually Germany only)

    So, you need to add it. The wiring loom just goes to power and the canbus distributor, so not too difficult.

    LHD loom A211 540 26 08
    RHD loom A211 540 92 06
    LCP (basic) A211 821 68 58 7167 (versions for some of the options above are different as it will then have switches on it)

    No, you need the LHD loom and the LCP

    Loom powers the LCP (and connects to CANbus), LCP connects to distronic switch.

    If you look at this eBay auction: MERCEDES W211 E350 E550 E55 E63 CLS CLS500 CLS550 AIRMATIC PTS SWITCH | eBay
    You will see the variant with Parktronic and airmatic suspension buttons. If you look at the picture of the underside, you should see the connector for the distronic switch on one side, the other connector is for the optional switches the other side of the gear stick, and the little connector is the power/CANbus loom

    The current part number that support distronic button connections are as follows. Colour code is 7167 (which dealer will need to know), but there is only that 1 colour

    A211 821 68 58 (no buttons, just has electronics for the switches either side of the gear knob)
    A211 821 69 58 (parktronic buttons)
    A211 821 70 58 (airmatic + parktronic buttons)
    A211 821 71 58 (airmatic buttons)

    Older part numbers that work too: -
    A211 820 64 10 (replaced by A211 821 29 58) (parktronic button)
    A211 821 29 58 (replaced by A211 821 68 58) (parktronic button)

    A211 820 65 10 -> A211 821 30 58 -> A211 821 69 58
    A211 820 66 10 -> A211 821 31 58 -> A211 821 70 58
    A211 820 54 10 -> A211 821 32 58 -> A211 821 71 58

    Theres plenty of older ones on eBay with the PTS button, so you could just have a PTS button awaiting your next retrofit :-)

    Cheers

    Richard,

    great info. Thank you very much for helping me out. So basically all I need is part # A211 821 68 58 without the buttons and the LHD loom. I won't retrofit Parktronic or anything else in that matter so I don't need the control unit with any type of button.
