    Default Distronic Bypass

Does anyone know if its possible to disable the Distronic function on a CLK63? It is a real nuisance when travelling on multi-lane freeways if you are travelling faster than the traffic. For me its part of the "over-engineering" of cars as manufacturers struggle to create "innovations" for new models.

My MB dealer said that it wasn't possible but their service attitude is abysmal and I'm sure they just couldn't be bothered.

The dealer is actually telling you the truth.

In order for them to disable DTR they must remove the option code from your datacard and reflash your engine controller.

The easiest thing is to put the car in SPEED LIMITER mode. The DTR only operated in Cruise Control mode as far as I knew. I could be wrong.

I was under the impression that speed limiter operated on a different software.
