Thread: Automatic lights clk500 [2003]

Hi,

I always drive with my lights on auto, but find it difficult to tell when they actually come in. Especially in overcast/rainy days when you want your lights on, but it is not dark enough to see reflection on road.
Should there be a light icon which comes on in the dash to tell you when lights are on. Mine does not show this so I am wondering if it is broken?
It's a 2003 CLK500.
I know it may sound petty but sometimes I need reassurance that my lights are on and by turning up the dimmer switch on the dials, I still cannot see any difference.

I think the green light on the light switch comes on when the auto lights come on. It does on 07 ml

Thanks for the reply Richard. I think that the green light must only be connected to the lights in later models. In my 2003, the green light comes on only when you have your fog lights on which you need to pull the light switch out towards you. On normal lights or auto lights, the green light is not even activated. Real shame, I wonder if I can change the light switch mechanism to a newer model?

Thats a shame - I'd have a look for a late CLK and see if it does !
