    Default Door Mirrors [reverse dipping]

My friends SLK 280 door mirrors tilt down when reverse is selected, I would like this feature on mine but can't find the settings in cluster to enable this, is this something that can be coded in as is handy when backing into parking bay to avoid marking my wheels.

    Cheers for any advise

PS Looked in convenience setting but not there

For the SLK R171 you need to do the following:

    a) check that you dont have memory seats, (we assume not)

    b) Purchase a passenger side memory capable mirror frame (add folding if you have this feature)

    c) carefully remove the wiring and motor from the new mirror frame.

    d) carefully dismantle the mirror frame from the passenger side (no need to remove metal parts) - just remove plastic mirror cover and wiring and motor (remove only the access cover not the whole door trim).

    e) install newer motor and wiring and assemble mirror

    f) in developer mode code for SPEIGELEINSTELLUNG as a menu option in the cluster.

    g) code the passenger door controller for memory.

When reversing select the pasenger mirror. There is a preset amount which the mirror will move down. Unlike a memory capable car you will not be able to adjust the amount. It should be sufficient.

Applies to CLK, CLS, E, SLK, C, SL, ML
