Yes

Also, the adapter, is it really simply plug and play into my existing connectors?
Yes !

That is an 8 way connector about 1" x 0.5". Only a few wires in there

>2. Power to the CD changer in the boot
Like above but 10 way - also has the CANbus (car's network) connection (brown & brown/red pair of wires)

>3. Speakers
8 way connector, with 8 wires in it.

>4. D2B optical connection
Yes

>I also have 2 radio antenna connectors (1 normal size, the other appears to be a very small style antenna connector).
Yes, main FM antenna and the diverse antenna.

You also will need a GPS antenna with the grey HRS connector on it.
( Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes SatNav/COMAND :: COMAND Retrofit parts :: W220 last S, W215 last CL :: Genuine MB GPS Antenna and WICLIC/HRS adapter for COMAND 2.0 )

>I would be more than happy with the CD version of the Comand and to play CD's through the head unit.
It will but if you have Audio-CD in there you can not navigate - but your CD changer in the boot will work.

Richard,

You are a true gent. Cheers for the info and help and I am looking forward to now getting the Comand, loom and trying this out. I have a bar which holds the radio unit in place which I will have to work out how to remove. Assuming I can do that without breaking the unit, it will hopefully be quite straight forward.

Thanks again and I will let you know how I get on.

Regards.

Bernie

The whole wood panel removes ! You will need a newer wood trim - look on eBay (use Search4CarParts to help you)

Cheers
