Default Dash clock won't reset to match Comand

I can set the clock on the Comand system but the dash clock won't change. I have no menu on the dash that shows a clock to set and nothing on the Comand system that let's me select whether or not I want them synced. I have read several places how to fix this but nothing has worked so far.

Thanks.

This is a 08 CLK350 Coupe. The MB dealer here said that the wrong codes were in the computer and recoded it and was able to set both clocks.

Thanks!

For anyone else that gets this (or that cares) in the future ...

The setting whereas to display the 'set time' menu, or the 'time synchronisation with head unit' menu (or to show neither) are a coding option normally set based on whether the car has COMAND or not.

The setting whether to take time from the head unit is attached to the key setting in the cluster (from the days when you had the 'key dependance' option where each key could call up different settings for different drivers which just confused people so they turned it off).

So, it is possible to have the set time facility not available, but the key settings set not to use the time from the head unit, and then you get what you had. But it shouldn't have happened ...

The dealer will have fixed it by changing key settings in the cluster coding for the default key and for key 3 probably.

Thanks for explaining this, Richard. FYI - The clocks did not change automatically for DST but when I set the clock on the Comand, the display clock changed so all is good.
