Acctim - I don't quite undertand what you want to do.

The reason SCN coding fails is because Mercedes can't generate a SCN code for a pre MY2009 car.

You have to code it with Star Diagnosis in "developer" mode - you can not turn on/off UCI from the "engineering mode" accessible on NTG2.5.

Also you need to have option 527 (navigation) added to the car's datacard and then SCN code the instrument cluster to enable the navigation menus. Don't be tempted to use option 511 as again Mercedes won't generate a usable SCN code.

Hi the independant doing the work for me has option 512 in the data card (comand APS with DVD-changer) not 527 does this need to be changed to 527 or added as well as 512 and if changed to only 527 will the dvd changer stop working or is this the option that allows the nav and audio in the cluster/steering wheel controls.

sorry for my lack of tech skill all is working except the audio and nav in the cluster and steering wheel controls and these the most important to me I need to change tracks etc from sterring wheel and get nav info in the cluster
Your knowledge, skill and help are very much appreciated, thanks

Geoff

Have 512 changed to 527 and then SCN code the cluster, and then turn on the iPod option (in Star) on the cluster.

It wont stop anything working on your COMAND.

You should get Audio control from the cluster by default, this is to get the Navigation menu / display on the cluster.

Geoff,

If you are having trouble with this and fancy a trip to Woking, Surrey then the guys at Comand (Europe) Ltd - Great Deals on Mercedes Comand & Retrofitting Installations can almost certainly fix this all for you.

Cheers for all your help Richard you've been a great help, any ideas why I've no audio in the cluster as I miss being able to change tracks, it was working fine with the audio 20 could something have been left off the datacard??

Once again your a Star

Yes, I suspect the Audio-20 (option 523) would have been removed when 512 was added as you can't have both - and although i've never seen a car without Audio-20/Audio-50 or COMAND (because UK spec always gets Audio-20) it makes sense that without option 523 the audio menu would get turned off as the 'MB system' would beleive there is no valid audio system (523/525/527) in the car.

Cheers
Richard
