Default Changed Comand Firmware from EU to US:Help!

Hi All,

I thought I was doing the right thing and went to update my comand to version 46/06... it turns out that that version is the US version, while the EU version is 30/06.

While updating it managed to Erase my flash so even when I hold 5,3 and 7 together I dont have the W211-ECE file to change back to.

Am so upset and feel like crying. I got hold of the Service CD W211 589 13 22 00 which is the EU version but when I try to update to 30/06 it says wrong variant. Am guessing its because its a US version it does not read the EU version.

My Car is a 2005 E Class 220 CDI Elegance

Can anyone help please.

Thanks

All I can think is that you try and install an older EU W211 version, hoping that one doesnt bother to check.

If you look at the COMAND APS FAQ on Mercedes Electronics upgrades, installation and retrofits it gives you part numbers for the older disks

Cheers

The MB dealer will look at it and say "replace the COMAND" and then say £2000 :-(

Talk to Alfie (on here), he is in Woking and has access to the old firmware disks, so can either install those, or possibly supply a new COMAND unit at significantly less than the dealer price

Cheers
