Default CLK W209 audio 20 to Comand

My car is a 2006 CLK (W209). I have the opportunity to purchase a Comand unit from a friend. It was a pull from his 2006 CLK. My question is will I be able to remove my audio 20 (cd slot) system and replace it with the Comand unit? Do I need any additional wires to make it work? Or is it just plug and play? Any dealer programming needed? I have the CD changer in the glove box (so did he).

The unit I want to purchase does come with the CD and DVD drive behind the Comand screen. Thanks for everyone's help!

Thanks for the quick response. By GPS connection do you mean the antenna?

The unit you describe sounds like a USA unit which is fine if you are in the USA.

To complete the job nicely you should get the car coded to properly reflect what devices are on the MOST bus and also enable the navigation instructions to appear in the instrument cluster.

Hope this helps,

Yes I am in the USA.

What is the part number for the GPS antenna I need for this unit? I am basically buying the unit alone with no cables. Only the DVD rom comes with it. Thanks!

The good thing here is that if you buy from the link and have it shipped to the USA then you will not have to pay the punitive UK sales tax of 17.5%. This will obviously make the item a lot cheaper for you.
