My car is a 2006 CLK (W209). I have the opportunity to purchase a Comand unit from a friend. It was a pull from his 2006 CLK. My question is will I be able to remove my audio 20 (cd slot) system and replace it with the Comand unit? Do I need any additional wires to make it work? Or is it just plug and play? Any dealer programming needed? I have the CD changer in the glove box (so did he).
The unit I want to purchase does come with the CD and DVD drive behind the Comand screen. Thanks for everyone's help! |

The unit you describe sounds like a USA unit which is fine if you are in the USA.
To complete the job nicely you should get the car coded to properly reflect what devices are on the MOST bus and also enable the navigation instructions to appear in the instrument cluster. Hope this helps, Last edited by Alfie; 03-09-2010 at 02:09 PM. |
