Thread: W210 Becker 6003 HU malfunction

The audio system on my 2002 E320 worked fine until yesterday. Yesterday I drove the car about 10 minutes - no problems -went into a store for about 45 minutes and when I came out and restarted the car, I had the message "WAIT" on the audio head unit as though I had tried to eroniously enter the security code 3 times _ I had not done anything but restart the car. After the 10 minute wait, "CODE" appeared on the display, and I tried to enter the security code from my code card (i've done this before with no problems) but it would not accept the code, and after 3 tries, it went back to "WAIT" I then pulled the fuse to the radio to do a power cycle, but this has also not had any effect, it still will not accept the code.
Has anyone seen this kind of problem. It has been mentioned in several posts on Benzworld, but I have yet to see any resolution. Also if I do need a new Head Unit, any suggestions

Sadly sounds like there is an issue with the head unit - I suspect its cheaper to pick up a replacement on eBay then have it repaired though.
