Post iPhone output on COMAND 2.0 [W210 E class]

Hi, i'm trying to find out how i best can connect my iphone to my comand 2.0 in W210 estate.

My car has the wired MB-phonehook in the armrest, so i guess no voltage nor uhi system there for an iphone cradle.

Now i'm thinking of buying the tomtom cradle, and it would be great when the images of the iphone can be connected to the rgb input of my comand.

    Is this a mission impossible?

    best regards,

I have installed UHI in many W210. You just need a REALLY good installer.

    Default Nokia 6090

    Dear BenzModz,

thx for your reaction. I just found out my W210 has a Nokia 6090 installed. Is this an UHI-based phone already?

    thx

No, the 6090 is the fixed telephone system.

This means to make it work with bluetooth etc, it has to be completely replaced.

Comand 2.0 has video in, except that it expects to see a TV tuner on it (and talk via some control lines (CANBUS) to it.
There are multimedia adapters for COMAND 2.0 that persuade it that it has a TV tuner and provide composite video in. Seach on ebay for "comand 2 multimedia"

Comand 2 also has an AUX in, so you could get sound from the 3.5mm out of the iPhone into the COMAND. If the car came with COMAND from factory there will be a 3.5mm socket in glovebox (probably), if not, you can add this: -

Comand Online Ltd :: COMAND Retrofit parts :: W208 last CLK, W210 old E :: Aux input wiring for cars with retrofitted COMAND 2.0 (CD based) & W163 ML

If you are in UK near Woking, talk to sales@comandeurope.com - they have done a load of W210 UHI retrofits, so you could then have bluetooth telephone with address book on the COMAND ..

    I hope that helps

    Richard
