I just bought the Bluetooth HPF cradle and tried to synch up my Blackberry Bold with it. The device pair with the phone and the blackberry works through the phone system, but i cannot see the blackbery phone book on the phone system screen. When i try and use the "Generate Contacts" options in the blackberry's bluetooth menu options, it says generate contact failed.

Has anyone seen this problem and has a fix ?

Ive seen Bold and HFP work fine (on a W203 C class estate with COMAND)

Given the error message on the BB, i'd check the blackberry has the latest firmware on it (from the blackberry site)

Also, what car (and age) is this in. The newer MB units need to be told to import contacts (and then they collect the contacts from the HFP or whatever cradle is in the car)

thanks. its a 2008 ML350 (VIN WDC1641862A398559). The blackberry bold is brand new so i am assuming the software is upto date.

Would you know how to import contacts ? I cant seem to find and option on the COMAND screen.

As you have the 2008 model, it should just import. 2009 onward needs to be told to do so.

It sounds like there are some issues then with some Bold's supporting address book transfer.

Please do check it has the latest firmware on it - the fact the phone is new does not mean it will .. and if its a problem with the release that is installed on your phone there will no doubt be a fix along soon from Blackberry
